Generally, the increase in regulation that occurs from the work will ease the origins of the specific issue. However, sometimes in our healing process things need to come up in order to come out and be released Thus,.there can be times after a session where certain things are heightened for a few days as the nervous system re-settles. The level of the issue overall will decrease in triggering situations AND the nervous system will move more easily through the activation and back to a more regulated place than it used to.

You may feel the heightened sense for a short while, but after things will settle into a new normal and improve. Many times in early life, the trauma is there because there was no support in moving through it at the point of origin.

I will stay present with each client in each session to help repair this breech that occurred. Words are not necessary as some trauma happens long before verbal language has been available. Bringing presence and safety in the session helps clients manage the things that show up. Staying present during activation helps build resiliency to the system.

There is a process that we go through to bring regulation and settling to the system. However, each person processes trauma differently and each system has its own ability and timing to find healing. Generally, we need to think long term, without being tied to time tables.

I have found weekly sessions to be helpful, however, every other week works well too. We will work according to your schedule and needs.

This is slow work to build systems that are not there. However, each client can decide when they feel they are able to live life in a more healthy way. In times of stress, we can always add sessions as they can be helpful. And even after the ongoing therapy has been terminated, I will still be available for help when needed.
